Vancouver Engagement Photography | Erin & Rochelle
We were honored to shoot Erin & Rochelle’s Vancouver engagement photography session at Queen Elizabeth Park this fall. Nestled in amongst the golden leaves and warm light, they strolled along with their dog Quincy and snuggled up together with blankets, baileys and coffee. It was the perfect fall photography session, and we are so excited to share the following story of their love.
How it all began…
For Erin and Rochelle, you could say they almost instantly clicked. They were searching for the “One”, and with encouragement from friends and family leapt into the world of online dating. After the click of a mouse on either end, they met for over a cup of tea and ended up in enthralling conversation.
After a few more dates Rochelle knew her and Erin were meant for each other. She not only appreciated his traditional values, but the defining moment was when her miniature schnauzer, Quincy, leaped into Erin’s lap after meeting him for the first time! Usually wary of any visitors, Quincy’s instant approval meant the world to her.
Erin knew Rochelle was a keeper was when she figured out the key to his heart was through his stomach. This was when they dined over candlelight enjoying her homemade baked mac ‘n cheese (his childhood favorite) with Caribbean chicken. As their love grew, Erin realized Rochelle was exactly what he had been looking for all along. She was thoughtful, caring and sweet; Adventurous enough to jump off a cliff with him in Jamaica but strong enough to keep him grounded.
After eighteen months of courtship, Erin knew it was time. That Thanksgiving they traveled to visit his family in Kelowna. Before the holiday feast, Erin and Rochelle took Quincy for a leisurely walk up Knox Mountain Park and stopped under the pergola to gaze across the Okanagan Valley. Erin drew a breath, went down on bended knee and proposed. After a moment of shock and excitement Rochelle exclaimed “yes!” Drinking in the moment, they held each other and gazed into the distance where they noticed five deer settling along the mountainside. Rochelle leaned closer to look at the new sparkling ring on her finger, and to her surprise, a lady bug scurried past her hand on the railing. The proposal was the perfect Disney-esque moment.
Arm in arm and glowing, they returned back to Erin’s family house. Gathered around the dinner table that evening, they stood up and announced what they were thankful for… their new engagement.
