Lighthouse Park Engagement Photography | Camila & Luiz

We are excited to share our most recent work, a Lighthouse Park Engagement Photography session in West Vancouver with Camila and Luiz.

They first locked eyes on a hot summer’s night in Brazil, 2008. Brought together by friends for a night out dancing, Camila’s moves enthralled Luiz. At the end of the evening, Luiz went in for a kiss, but Camila responded by saying they’d be better off as friends. Knowing she was the one for him, Luiz continued to pursue her. One afternoon while at work, he discovered she was dancing at a studio near his office, and Luiz knew this was his chance to prove his love. He abandoned his post, sprinted to the studio and arrived so breathless he couldn’t speak. Luckily, Camila thought this was such a romantic gesture that this time she kissed him! They’ve been together ever since.

Four years later, they travelled to Vancouver and spent a year living together. After exploring the mountains, ocean, and everything the West Coast has to offer, they considered themselves Canadian at heart. It was one of the best years of their lives.

So while planning a pre-wedding trip to North America, it just made sense to do their engagement photography in Vancouver. While researching Vancouver wedding photographers, they found a photo from our Helicopter Tour Engagement photo shoot and decided they immediately wanted to book us. After a Skype session we all agreed that a Lighthouse Park Engagement photography session in West Vancouver would be the perfect setting. With the stunning city in the background, rough waters, and jagged coast – Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver offered an iconic Canadian landscape, vastly different from Brazil.

Although their trip to Vancouver was setup to be perfect, they soon discovered a few challenges upon arrival. First, we had to postpone their photo shoot for a day as their luggage never left Brazil. Next, they had their rental car towed… twice – including 1 hour before our photo shoot was about to start.

In the end, the shoot went perfectly. They made it on time to Lighthouse Park and the weather was incredible. The clouds were dramatic, the light was soft, the breeze was slight and the waters were rough. Camila and Luiz were also amazing to photograph, being so comfortable in front of our cameras as so enthralled with each other.

We had an amazing experience with these two love birds, and wish them all the best for their upcoming nuptials in Brazil.
